First, MLL is committed to building a better community.

MLL has and will not during my term of presidency request to play or practice on Sundays, other than the Challenger Division, which had 7 games this year and a pitching clinic. Soccer does play 7 days a week and uses the fields off of Marilla.

There are many myths regarding Moreland Little League, including the latest that we were asking for 125 feet of loading zone (we asked for 3 to 5 cars). I live next to EDS, off Marilla, not directly by the field. I too am affected by the traffic & noise. I totally agree with those that live adjacent to the field.
But, as a mother of 2 small children, my other concern is about the children playing in MLL. What is the need to have games on Sundays? Don’t we over schedule our children as it is? Can these children have one day free to just be kids?
Growing up and being involved in little league myself we didn’t play on Sundays. Why must MLL?
In a world of busy busy busy, why can’t we just slow done and enjoy a day and teach our children to do the same?!

I heard one neighbor is moving out of neighbhood because of noise, traffic and garbage coming with MLL expanded field use.

It is sad to see other people show their happiness publicly because they can enjoy MLL and leave sufferness to other people.

Thanks for pointing this out. Managers who arrive at the field are responsible for placing the cones and safety men. This is a new process for us, so, please, if you see that there are no cones or safety men, please notify the nearest parent and he/she will get them from the minor league score booth.

No cones or safety men tonight. This is a safety measure to keep our kids protected. We don’t let our kids up to bat or even out of the dug out without a helmet for fear of getting hit by a baseball. Imagine the impact of a car vs a child!. Maybe as we make the umpires responsible for safety checking players and gear they do not allow the game to start if the cones are not out. Although by the time the game starts its too late and a player rushing to be on time so he does not have to run laps has already been put in harms way. I live across the street and see near misses 6 days a week and in fact on saturday there was a car stopped in the cross walk to pick up their player and a elderly gentleman ridding on a scooter was forced into the street because the car was stopped in the cross walk. the same car started backing up and i stopped a parent pushing a stroller outside the cross walk because the SUV didn’t expect the pedestrian to be crossing the street outside the cross walk. Please keep our children safe

The players out in the field could hear nothing! This I believe made them very talkative & somewhat out of control. The Managers & Coaches would have liked to hear the PA as well. This happens every year! If we had just two or three more speakers facing the outfield the problem would be solved. FYI
